Route 66 Sign Stacker® 1 oz Silver Alpha Strike™

Among the first pieces produced for Scottsdale Mint’s Route 66 Centennial release, the Route 66 Sign Stacker® 1 oz Silver Alpha Strike™ pairs an early-production designation with a mintage of just 100 pieces.

Struck in 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver, the design takes inspiration from the unmistakable Route 66 highway shield and incorporates checkered flag detailing as a reference to the automotive culture surrounding the historic road. Scottsdale Mint’s interlocking Stacker® technology adds functionality to the shield-shaped design, while the Alpha Strike™ designation distinguishes this release from the standard 1 oz edition.

Limited to 100 Alpha Strike™ Pieces

The Alpha Strike™ edition is reserved for some of the earliest pieces struck during the initial production run. For the Route 66 Sign Stacker® 1 oz Silver Round, only 100 pieces carry this designation.

That limited Alpha Strike™ mintage creates a distinct version of the centennial release while retaining the same 1 oz silver weight, .999 purity, Route 66 design, and interlocking Stacker® construction.

Each Alpha Strike™ piece is sealed in Scottsdale Mint’s tamper-evident Certi-Lock® packaging, distinguishing it from the standard release and preserving its designated presentation.

A Centennial Design Built Around the Road

Route 66 was officially designated in 1926, creating an approximately 2,400-mile route between Chicago and Los Angeles. Over the following decades, its highway shield became an enduring symbol of cross-country driving and the growth of American car culture.

For the highway’s 2026 centennial, that recognizable sign serves as the basis for the Stacker® design. Checkered flag elements introduce a motorsports influence, reflecting the cars and driving culture that have become closely associated with Route 66.

The result commemorates the anniversary through imagery directly connected to the road without retelling the full history of Route 66 found throughout the broader collection.

Interlocking Stacker® Technology

The Route 66 Sign Stacker® incorporates Scottsdale Mint’s interlocking construction, allowing multiple pieces to fit securely together when stacked.

The system extends across the silver weights in the collection. The 1 oz Route 66 Stacker® is designed to interlock with the 2 oz version, allowing the two sizes to connect within the same shield-shaped series.
